A need for something new.

CØDA Ensemble was founded by artistic director Liam Cunningham in Fall 2018 as a fluid chamber ensemble dedicated to the performance and education of new music. Our primary emphasis on diverse programming is in part achieved by fostering new music with several season commissions and prominently featuring underrepresented composers and works. CØDA is actively working to address the disparity of concerts and events featuring BIPOC artists.

Our larger projects typically involve interdisciplinary collaboration, often working with dancers, actors, and community activists. By combining many artistic disciplines into a single concert we are able to provide more accessibility and context to audiences of all backgrounds. In an effort to allow our music be heard and available to all of our communities, we have made our entire season free to the public. Starting In our 2019 season, we were thrilled to add a series of chamber music concerts to our regular performances, allowing us to feature the music of many local Boston composers, as well as highlight the extreme talent of our musicians.
